Depending upon the degree of injury (grade 1, 2, or 3) OR sprain vs. tear, a skilled physical therapist will be able to guide you if physical therapy should be started or if you need to hold off on it. As per the current guidelines, It is recommended to start physical therapy sooner rather than later to avoid range of motion restrictions or muscle weakness from setting in. But of course, each person has a unique set of factors that will determine the course of treatment.
Nowadays, there is a lot of knowledge out there on you tube and google. Although these can be very helpful, if you have prior knowledge of what you may need and which exercises will be right for you. At the same time, when in pain or post-injury it is important to consult with a professional who can evaluate and provide you with a customized care plan and the correct exercises.
We provide Tele Physical therapy and late evening appointments for our clients. We work with your schedule and provide you with the tools that you can use while you are healing from a work-related injury. It is imperative to learn correct body mechanics and posture for work-related tasks so that when you do return to work, you do not re-injure yourself.
